It's
a long way from an open mike in
Scottsdale,AZ to closing "The
Late Show with David Letterman"
last week, but Jann Karam did
it with "only about a million"
stops along the way. Seeing the
incredible enthusiasm Jann brings
to everything she does, and especially
to every performance of the one
year run of her solo show "Reclining
Nude on La Cienega", makes
you wonder aloud, "How does
she do it?"
Why she does
it is obvious, ...... she
loves what she does, .....she
loves to perform,..... Jann
loves her audience and plays
to it whether in the 92 seat
Tamarind Theatre in Hollywood
next week or on "The
Late Show" last week
where the rapport was with
the live audience and the
national viewers got to look
in on the fun.
Los Angeles audiences certainly
respect Jann's credentials
like "The Second City"
in Chicago , "Catch A
Rising Star" in New York,
and "The Laugh Factory
" and "The Improv"
in Los Angeles; an extensive
list of TV comedy credits
like "The Tonight Show",
HBO's "Young Comedians",
"An Evening at The Improv",
and "Politically Incorrect";
and TV acting appearances
as recently as "Norm"
two weeks ago or back to "Seinfeld",
"Mad about You,"
a regular on "The Carol
Burnette Show," and many,
many others.
Add to this opening for musical
headliners in Las Vegas, Tahoe,
and Atlantic City.
And add to that writing, directing,
and starring in the festival
favorite and award-winning
movie, "Under The Big
Muu Muu" for Castle Rock
Entertainment.
Add'em together, .....it sounds
like a long and distinguished
career and that Jann should
be retiring soon to enjoy
her golden years reminiscing.
But we're talking about a young
woman here whose career has
just begun with her best and
funniest times still ahead.
Come join the fun and laughter
at the Tamarind Theatre in
Hollywood Wednesdays April
25th, May 2nd, and May 9th.
"Reclining Nude on La
Cienega"......."a
funny and insightful show
about life, love, and growing-up
naked."
